Meet Frank Yacenda, Alpha Opportunities' President and CEO

frank yacenda is president & ceo of alpha ppportunitiesFrank Yacenda, Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Alpha Opportunities International, Inc., has had a career spanning more than three decades. During his career, Frank has been head of international business and project development companies, a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State, and an award-winning public relations and marketing practitioner, and journalist.

During his 11 years as a member of the U.S. diplomatic corps, from 1988 to 1999, Frank served in the Administrative speciality area, managed up to 74-plus employees and construction projects up to $1 million, and oversaw annual budgets up to $3 million in on- and off-budget resources. Frank was certified as a Federal Procurement Officer, General Services Officer, and Consular Officer. He also served as Economic and Commercial Officer in Albania, and in his last posting was the top U.S. counter-narcotics policy official in Brazil.

In addition to Brazil and Albania, Frank was posted to Fiji, Algeria, and to the State Department's Intelligence and Research Bureau in Washington, where he was a political analyst whose portfolio included Lebanon and Jordan, with back-up responsibilities for Egypt, Syria, and the former Israeli-Palestinian Peace Process.

In the private sector, Frank was Director of Government Relations for Strategicom, Inc., of Bozeman and Helena, Montana. Prior to that position he headed Balkan Consortium Holdings USA, Inc., an international project development and technology transfer company, which he managed from the company's overseas headquarters in Greece. He also headed a multi-company team on three continents that developed an innovative mobile desalination system, and currently serves as President and CEO of AcquaPro Worldwide, Inc., the project development and marketing company.

Along with serving as chief executive of Alpha Opportunities, Frank serves as General Manager and Director of Gulfstaff LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Alpha Opportunities International, Inc. Based in Biloxi, Mississippi, Gulfstaff and GulfstaffExecutive offer temporary and permanent staffing, executive search services, and a range of staffing support services in the United States and worldwide. He also heads A-List Strategic Communication, the marketing, public relations, and strategic communication consulting arm of Alpha Opportunities.

Prior to entering the Foreign Service, Frank founded and headed ITech International, a public relations and marketing communication firm based in Melbourne, Florida. Specializing in the aerospace, high technology, real estate, and tourism sectors, Frank won Florida's most prestigious public relations recognition, the Golden Image Award of the Florida Public Relations Association, for a global public information campaign he produced for Europe's largest aerospace group. He also earned a number of other honors for his advertising and marketing communication work. At the same time, he served as Chairman of the Space Coast World Trade Council, a regional group in the Central Florida area dedicated to export promotion.

Before transitioning into the PR field, Frank was an award-winning journalist and science writer with Gannett Newspapers, and also published, edited, and reported for several weekly and monthly publications in Florida and New York State.

Frank holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Planning and Studies from Rutgers–The State University of New Jersey in New Brunswick, and a Master of Arts in Mass Communication degree, with a specialization in International Communication, from the University of Florida in Gainesville.

Frank has lived in seven countries outside the U.S. and has visited more than 70 countries and territories, as well as 49 of the 50 U.S. states. He speaks French, Albanian, and some Portuguese, Spanish, and German, and has studied Arabic and Latin. The breadth and depth of Frank's international private- and public-sector experience enables him to serve as a seasoned guide to investors and companies seeking to develop and exploit international business opportunities.
